Two ministers of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) have been reported Covid-19 positive with a spike in coronavirus cases in the region on Wednesday.
A day earlier, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal said that he has tested positive for coronavirus, as the country begins imposing lockdowns in COVID-19 hotspots.
According to details, Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Farooq Ahmed Tahir and College Education Minister Waqar Ahmed Noor have been reported Covid-19 positive.
Local administration has imposed smart lockdown at five places after resurgence of coronavirus cases. According to the government notification, smart lockdown has been clamped at Officers Colony Narol, Domel Taameer-e-Nau School street, Officers Colony Jalalabad, Rizwan School’s street and the street behind Saif Plaza.
Meanwhile, CM Balochistan Jam Kamal said in a tweet, “My Covid Test has come positive.”
Balochistan has recorded 15,541 coronavirus cases, 146 deaths, and 15,220 recoveries from the pandemic, according to official statistics . The chief minister announced that he had tested positive, however, he did not give any further details of his condition.
Several Pakistani politicians including PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif, ANP’s Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Sindh education minister Saeed Ghani, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari had tested positive for coronavirus, after which they went into self-isolation and recovered.
